The Directorate is the Agency's highest executive body, responsible for its day-to-day management and administration
The Directorate is responsible for the functions established in Chapter IV, Section 2, Article 13 of the AECID Statute approved by Royal Decree 1246/2024 of 10 December.

VICTORIA TUR GÓMEZ
Director of AECID
Victoria Tur Gómez (born in Tarragona, Spain, in 1981). Holding a bachelor’s degree in law and a postgraduate degree in International Studies, Ms. Tur Gómez started her career in the diplomatic service in 2007.
Over the course of her career, she has held different positions overseas, including Deputy Head of Mission at the Spanish Embassy in Zimbabwe and Jamaica; and Counsellor at the Spanish Embassy in Berlin.
At the headquarters of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, European Union and Cooperation, she has worked in the Office of the Secretary-General for the European Union, at the Directorate-General for International Economic Relations, and as the Deputy Assistant Director-General for Sub-Saharan Africa.
Her career is closely linked to Spanish Cooperation. At AECID, she was the Head of the former Department for Cooperation with Asia and the Arab world and, until her appointment as Director of AECID, she served as the Chief of Staff to the Director of the Agency.
