Non-Governmental Development Organisations (NGDOs) play an outstanding role in Spanish policy for development cooperation, and this dynamism is a particular characteristic of our country’s work in this field. The Master Plan for Spanish Cooperation 2005-2008 and the Third Master Plan 2009-2012 recognise the very real importance of NGDOs as a channel for social involvement and communication and a vital means of raising awareness within Spanish society. These Master Plans also acknowledge that NGDOs are very well informed about the reality of the South, from their work with the peoples and social organizations of developing countries.
AECID’s role with respect to NGDOs involves, among other aspects, maintaining the register of Spanish NGDOs, encouraging support frameworks for Spanish aid workers abroad, and channelling Spanish ODA through NGDOs, using instruments aimed at promoting effectiveness, quality, complementarity and shared goals, seeking to achieve a strategic alliance between government and civil society to develop a common, shared policy centred on human development.
The AECID Online Office has published information on the new Call for Agreements 2012-2015. This notice was also published in the Spanish Official Gazette (BOE) on July 4, 2011 (No. 158/2011). Online presentation of applications can be made from Wednesday, June 22, and applications may be formally submitted from 5 July to 9 July (Saturday). Note that correct submission of the application requires both online presentation and the postal delivery of the additional documentation (concept fact sheet, Annexe 1 to the application and administrative documents).
