Hoy se ha celebrado en la sede de la Agencia Española de Cooperación Internacional para el desarrollo (AECID) la jornada “Hambre cero y alimentación sostenible: el papel de la investigación agraria para el desarrollo (IApD) en el marco de los ODS”. La Directora de la Agencia, Aina Calvo, ha sido la encargada de dar la bienvenida a los participantes.
La jornada se ha desarrollado en dos mesas. La primera, moderada por Miriam Ciscar Blat, Jefe del Departamento de Cooperación Sectorial de AECID, ha consistido en un coloquio sobre las actuaciones exitosas y actuales en Investigación Agraria para el Desarrollo, y en ella han intervenido José Luis Alonso Prado, Subdirector General de Prospectiva y Coordinación de Programas del INIA; Helena Gómez MacPherson, investigadora del Instituto de Agricultura Sostenible- CSIC de Córdoba; y Celia Fernández Aller, Profesora Dra. De la Universidad Politécnica de Madrid (UPM).
En la segunda mesa, moderada por Soraya Villaroya Gordon, Coordinadora para Europa del Instituto Interamericano de Cooperación para la Agricultura, se han comentado las conclusiones del II Congreso de IApD y las acciones a desarrollar en el futuro. En ella han intervenido Carlos Gregorio Hernández Díaz-Ambrona, Secretario del Centro de Innovación en Tecnología para el desarrollo humano de la UPM; José Luís Cruz Maceín, Investigador del IMIDRA y representante de España en el Grupo de Trabajo Estratégico European agricultural research towards greater impact of global challenges (SWG-ARCH); y Ana-Regina Segura Martínez, Jefa del Área de Desarrollo Rural, Seguridad Alimentaria y Nutrición de AECID.
La jornada se ha planteado como continuación al II Congreso “Investigación en agricultura para el desarrollo” que tuvo lugar en la Escuela Técnica Superior de Ingeniería Agronómica Alimentaria y de Biosistemas de la UPM, celebrado en marzo de 2017, como un momento de reflexión sobre el camino recorrido en la Agenda 2030 con especial atención a la investigación-acción en el ámbito de la agricultura para el desarrollo
La agricultura y la alimentación ocupan un papel destacado en la Agenda 2030 para el Desarrollo Sostenible. La lucha contra el hambre, la agricultura sostenible, la producción y el consumo responsable, el cambio climático, la gestión de los recursos naturales, las alianzas, son algunos de los temas abordados por los objetivos de desarrollo sostenible (ODS) que guardan relación con el sistema agroalimentario. La red de investigación en agricultura para el desarrollo es un punto de encuentro de actores singulares para esos logros que inició su andadura hace años. Recorrido un tercio del tiempo para el que fueron programados los ODS, las acciones para el logro de estos objetivos no pueden esperar.
