Frequently Asked Questions: Library

Who can access home loans?

The home loan service is available for researchers, doctorate students and university students doing research on social sciences and humanities in Ibero-America, the Arab and Islamic world and on development cooperation.

How can I borrow books?

A library card is required. Cards are issued on the spot at the libraries from Monday to Friday from 9.00 am to 2.30 pm and from 4.00 to 7.00 pm, except holidays. Special opening hours for Christmas, Easter and summer will be posted on the AECID website.

You can borrow up to 8 books for one month, and renew the loan for another 15 days.

Students of the Complutense University of Madrid do not need to provide a cover letter to obtain their card other than in exceptional cases.

Does AECID library offer inter-library loans?
