The external structure of the AECID incorporates 44 Technical Cooperation Offices (TCOs), 15 Cultural Centres and 6 Training Centres, located in the partner countries with which the AECID has the highest level of cooperation. These units are all attached to the corresponding embassies. Nevertheless, they are functionally responsible to the AECID, which provides the corresponding budget provision.
Technical Cooperation Offices (TCOs). These Offices manage, supervise and follow up the development projects and cooperation programmes implemented by the Agency. They also collaborate in programmes and projects sponsored by other public administrations.
Spanish Cooperation Training Centres. The function of these Training Centres is to prepare, coordinate and conduct cooperation activities with particular regard to training.
Cultural Centres. These Centres prepare, coordinate and perform actions in the field of cultural cooperation, and work to expand the potential scope of cultural actions abroad. As well as the Cultural Centres, there are five joint-management centres, with local participation, which enrich the diverse landscape of the Network of Cultural Centres.
